Make a will
Everyone should make a will and, significantly, you should also review it from time to time as your circumstances change. This is important because the law of intestate succession, which provides who the beneficiaries will be where no will is in existence, very often runs contrary to people's actual wishes, particularly in this age of marriage breakdowns, step families and couples choosing not to marry.
If you own your home or think that you might be liable for inheritance tax, we can help you to identify opportunities to minimise the amount of tax your estate will be required to pay.
Most wills are straightforward and inexpensive, but should always be prepared by a qualified solicitor who can deal with any difficulties and ensure that the will is valid.
In considering a will, it is important to also consider Powers of Attorney.
